Abstract

This article looks at both conventional and alternative modalities of treating pain arising as a result of orthodontic treatment. The nature and effects of the pain are discussed, as well as causes during orthodontic treatment. Conventional pain controlling techniques are described with regard to pre- and post-treatment regimes. Alternative pain controlling techniques are also highlighted.
